Google Recognized Link
Exchange
Hello and thank you for your interest in exchanging links. Not only am I a professional wedding videographer,
but I also am a certified Search Engine Marketer as well. I earned that distinction in October of 2006 after taking
training from a internationally recognized organization.
During my link-building efforts to get CoastalVideography.com to the top of the Search Engines, I noticed some
crafty ways some web masters were building their link pages, negating the positive effect that link may have on my
site. Thus, I was linking to them in good faith and they were putting a totally useless link on their site.
Some of the ways that they did this were to put 'no-follow' links on their link page, basically instructing
Google's Spider to not follow the link from their site. They would also have a robots.txt file in the root of their
website disallowing the search engine spiders to go to the link page. They would embed the links in Java scripts or
.php or .asp making them invisible to the Search Engines. They would not make their links page available from their
home pages. They would put hundreds of outbound links on one page making the page a virtual "link farm." And they
would out source their link campaigns to link management companies that housed the links on their sites rather than
the site that I was linking to.
It did not take long to wise up and to thoroughly check the potential partners that I might link to prior to
putting a link on my site to theirs. I now only add what I call 'Google recognized' reciprocal links to my site and
the quality of the links I have are so much higher.
So, I would like to ask you for a link exchange as a potential partner. The goal would be that both of our sites
would rank higher, have higher Google PRs, and ultimately bring us more customers and money. If you are interested
in this exchange, please fill out the form below this letter.
Best,
Bill Nixon

P.S. By the way, my links page can be found here: http://www.coastalvideography.com/Links.html. It is fully
indexable by Google and I can take text or image links. It is not script based. It is built to meet all of the
newest web standards and my robots.txt file does NOT disallow any of my pages from being spidered. I use 100%
white-hat methods of Search Engine Optimization and will never change that on my website.
